There are so many varieties of small and large printing press machineries
(also automatic process) are used for such applications. The machineries used
in printing press are classified in to two types. One is pre press and another
one is post press machineries.
Pre-press machineries are used for printing needed designs in
sheets which can automatically fed sheets into color printing machine. After
printing the design by printing press machineries, the sheets will be sent to
post press machineries.
The main post press tasks are variable data printing, fine
coating, die punching and creasing with desired size and shape. Through this
blog we are going to see briefly about die punching and creasing processes and
the corresponding machines.
Die Punching
This is the subtle process of cutting the papers by punching
with the help of pre-designed dies. The dies chosen are varied depend on our paper
punching requirement. They define the final shape of the punched sheets. Most
of the die punching machineries are using sharpen blades with curved cutting
edges to punch and separate more number of sheets at a time. The die tool is
fixed with punching machine until the sheets are punched. The punched sheets
are sent to creasing process.
Creasing
It is a process of folding papers in a desired manner with
the help of machine. The papers arriving for creasing is to be set between
roller bar and folding knife tool. When the knife tools press the sheet, the
one sheet hand is raised over. In such way needed areas are creased at the same
time and then sheet is ready to produce.
Some special types of post press machineries are featured
with both die punching and creasing equipment. In automaticdie punching and creasing machine, it finds solutions for defects itself
when paper feeding and processing. Some machines have touch screen monitor to view
the status of process time to time. Die cutting and creasing machine finalizes
the printing press process and sent processed sheets to delivery. This machine
is used in printing and packaging units. It assists to handle papers, sheets,
card boards, etc.
